The Early YearsMount Royal University
Corinda moved to the "big city" for its greater variety of opportunities and continued her studies in the Arts Diploma (Acting) program at Mount Royal College (since renamed Mount Royal University). She accepted a succession of acting roles, so she never completed her studies. Kiwanis Music Festivals, in Olds & Calgary
Corinda competed and won (as "Corinda Davies*") in the local competitions between 1987 and 1993. In 1991, Corinda competed in the Olds Kiwanis Music Festival after finishing her role of "Laurey" with Central Alberta Theatre. She progressed to the "Provincials", held that year at Red Deer College Arts Centre. Later, when Corinda was living in Calgary, she competed at the Calgary Kiwanis Music Festival, progressing to the "Provincials" held in Edmonton.
Corinda won the Norma Piper Pocaterra Memorial Award at the Calgary Kiwanis Festival for the best overall vocal excellence in various music genres at a competition. *the review in the Olds Albertan incorrectly credited her as "Corinda Davis" Other Acting Roles
In 1992, while at Mount Royal College, Corinda also performed as "Noella" (Christmas Princess) in a production at the Devonian Gardens Stage. She also had two roles in the
StoryBook Theatre production of "A Little Bit of Magic", the roles of Princess Pat, and Narrator. The company performed this at the historic Pumphouse Theatre. Pied Pickle Restaurant, Calgary
In 1992, Corinda started working as Waitress & Duty Manager at the Pied Pickle's downtown location (they had several locations around Calgary at that time).
